@Mobb_Ryder - The Blockumentary (Review)

Anyone that has followed the underground hiphop scene in the uk for the last ten years should already know the levels of  conscious realism that Mobb Ryder brings with his audio revolution, if you are still yet to succumb to the music of this artist then I put it to you that you don't know anyhing about uk hiphop.

Mobb has released numerous mixtapes over the last few years most notably his 2010 album Writers Block which to this day is still a classic piece of music. Unlike most artists that come from our country's capital city, Mobb Ryder isn't trying to prove that he is the typical drug dealing, gang affiliated urban martyr, in fact Mobb is the polar opposite of these artists with his lyricism including relatable topics and real life issues that affect the majority of the uk's population in one way or another.

This new mixtape "The Blockumentary" marks a momentous point in Mobb's career as finally after years of hard graft, the fans of uk music are finally starting to tune into his music and show him the love and respect that he deserves. Just by listening to this mixtape you can tell that this is an artist who is in his prime right now and producing some of the most polished music to come out so far this year.

From the anthemic opener "12 Stories" (watch video HERE) to the huge catchy hook of "On The Corner" featuring our friend Talapaton, this mixtape really is a piece of art. One thing that never ceases to amaze me about this artist is his willingness to inform the listener and pass on the wisdom that he has gained through his own personal journeys. Most albums and mixtapes that I review tend to get a bit repetitive after the 10th track but this 18 track masterpiece had me craving for more and reaching for the repeat button to listen to the project all over again.

I sincerely urge you to research into the mind of a modern day great by downloading/purchasing some of the releases in his back catalogue as you wait for The Blockumentary to drop as I know for a fact once it lands the revolution will leave you unable to escape it's campaign.
