It's not been too long since the legendary midlands figurehead that is Big Mikee released his last instrumental "Stampede EP" and I'm sure most of you have been blasting out for the last 3 months or so, if not you can read our review and grab it HERE
Without letting the dust have chance to settle he's back again with another classic EP from the Dark Elements camp. The original mix of Pork Pie is an absolute sub low monster with hard hitting drums and the typical Big Mikee flair. The uk grime legend always brings the goods when it comes to instrumentals but this gem is deffinetly among some of his personal best in my opinion.
As usual Dark Elements producers Darx and Skinzmann are involved with both having remixes on this EP, Darx going for the subtle stinker and Skinzmann coming with a heavy sludgeball of a riddim. The other two tracks on this release are both remixes by well respected members of the grime producers scene and both work their usual magic to create memorable remixes.
The producers in question are midlands guru Swifta Beater and London grime mogul Spooky. As expected Swifta uses his catchy, polished sound to create a remix that will ensure this EP further recognition than it was already going to get and Spooky has taken the Pork Pie stems, taken them to within an inch of death, revived them and combined them as one humongous evil riddim.
We are very privileged to of received this EP before release and can garuntee Big Mikee's supporters, affiliates and the grime scene in general will ensure that this release gets the solidified respect and exposure that it deserves.
